* APRIL 2007 * ********************

APRIL DAY & NIGHT MEETINGS
Join Susan Bradshaw as she tells us about Profile Drafts, what they are and the power of using them.

Time: Thurs., Apr. 12, 2007 - 10:00 am - 12:30 pm
Place: Buzzard's Backyard BBQ, Fremont St., Mty
(near Travelodge Motel)
Susan will repeat Profile Drafts at the night meeting. Read SALLY GRIFFIN ACTIVE LIVING CENTER below for more information.

MARCH MEETINGS RECAP
Many thanks to Judith Burdick for sharing with us her Oxford/Berkeley Summer School experience learning about the wool industry during Chaucer's time. Her next adventure will be visiting Amsterdam. We look forward to hearing about it.

NANYUKI SPINNERS AND WEAVERS
The guild will have a booth about the Nanyuki S&W at the CNCH 2007 Fiber Retreat at Asilomar, Apr. 19-22. The booth will include certificates of sheep ownership that other guilds (or individuals) can "purchase" by donating money. In addition, knit kits, designed by Kate McGrave, will soon be available. The kits contain yarn and instructions to knit animals. Monies from these projects will be sent to the Nanyuki.

SALLY GRIFFIN ACTIVE LIVING CENTER
Andrea Fuerst, Director, Sally Griffin Active Learning Center, invited CCG to view a loom donated to the Center. We held our March night meeting there and agreed to help the Center get the loom up and running. This includes warping it up for use and donating weaving related tools and yarn. We'll hold our night meetings there for the next few months. Join us, bring yarn, shuttles, etc. so Andrea can get this project going. Susan Bradshaw will repeat Profile Drafts.

Time: Thurs., Apr. 28, 2007 - 6:30 - 8:30 pm
Place: Sally Griffin Center, 700 Jewell Ave., P.G.

REMINDER
Martha Stanley will be our guest at the May meeting, Thurs., May 10th. She will bring her Anasazi rug and other examples of work she has done related to Anasazi weaving. Please invite your family and friends to hear Martha. She's an outstanding weaver and rug expert.
