January 2026 Workshop sign-up!! Saturday January 17, 2026 Carmel Crafts Guild will be hosting Galina Khmeleva as a speaker for our guild program. Galina is a Russian American artist and former student of Olga A. Fedorova, the famed Orenburg Lace expert. She will be giving a presentation on the history of Orenburg lace and her experiences working with the knitters in Russia at our general meeting. Sunday January 18 will be an all-day workshop entitled Spinning & Plying for Orenburg Lace, followed by an all-day workshop Monday January 19 entitled The Fundamentals of Orenburg Knitted Lace. The next Beginning Weaving class will be 2/28-3/1, 2026. It will be held at the Monterey County Fairgrounds, 2004 Fairground Road
Monterey, CA 93940. We will be in the Wool Room, enter Gate 4.
Class slots are limited to 6 people so they fill quickly, save the date soon. Cost of $85.00 includes loan of a loom and all materials. Each participant goes home at the end of the weekend with a scarf they have woven!
